Here is how it works;

I  use a back comb and crocheting technique without the use of any products. With this technique the dreads are created tight straight away and works on all hair types. (do keep in mind they always need about 6 months to a year to fully mature)

Your hair needs to be at least 10 cm long. You loose about 1/3 of the length of your hair. The ends of the dreads can be open and wispy, this adds a bit of length, or closed.

​

The creation of a full head of dreadlocks varies per person, depending on the length and thickness of your hair and if you wish to have extensions added. A full head creation without extension is between 4 and 8 hours. 

​

Wash your hair the day before your appointment. After creating your dreadlocks I recommend not to wash your hair for about 2 weeks. This way your dreads have some time to settle. Of course if your scalp gets itchy do wash it, but mainly focus on the scalp. 
After washing it is the best time to palm roll them, to help along the matting process and keep them straight.

After 6 weeks it is time for your first maintenance. This is the most important one because your dreads are not fully matured yet and need a bit of guidance until they are. 
If you leave your dreads without maintenance the chance of getting lumps and bumps is bigger.
